Compact pneumatic clamping enabled integration into limited fixture space.
KOSMEK hydraulic and pneumatic clamps supported a compact, reliable fixture system inside SEMA’s MT30X rotary transfer machine.
SEMA Maschinenbau develops and manufactures machine tools, automation systems, and production solutions for demanding machining applications. The company is part of the SEMA Technology Group and is based in Traunkirchen, Austria.
For the MT30X, a two-station rotary transfer machine with machine tending automation in the centre, SEMA needed a compact and reliable clamping solution for the production of door lock housings. The available installation space was a key requirement, and the clamping system needed to work smoothly as part of a closed fixture concept.
SEMA selected compact KOSMEK pneumatic clamps for the MT30X machine, including WCA0321 Pneumatic Link Clamps and WHC0201 Pneumatic Swing Clamps. The compact product size was the main reason for the selection, with no alternative solution required. The application was implemented as a closed system using KOSMEK products. Additional KOSMEK components used in related mechanical engineering applications included LHA0360, TLZ1000, and TMA0601.
KOSMEK hydraulic and pneumatic clamping technology was integrated across the MT30X application scope, enabling a compact fixture concept within the available machine space.
