Nissan UK Improves Machining Efficiency with KOSMEK High-Power Clamping Systems

The largest Nissan plant in Europe, producing over 350,000 cars annually including the Qashqai, Juke, and the all-electric Leaf.

In 2010, NMUK set out to upgrade all new machining lines with a clamping solution that would:

• Deliver high accuracy, rigidity, and clamp force at lower hydraulic pressures
• Reduce fixture size and improve accessibility
• Lower purchase and operating costs without compromising performance

NMUK adopted KOSMEK High-Power Series clamping components across all machining lines, including:

• Hydraulic Link Clamps
• Hydraulic Swing Clamps
• Work Supports
• Zero Point Systems

These High-Power Series products operate at a safe 60 bar hydraulic pressure while delivering the same holding force as traditional 200 bar systems. Their compact, agile design reduces fixture size, lowers manufacturing costs, and improves operational efficiency.
