IWAMET is one of the world’s leading producers of precision castings and workpieces made from aluminium alloy by CNC machining.
Aluminium castings produced using sand casting technology can have profile tolerances of up to 8 mm. This made it challenging to clamp the part securely in the machining fixture without introducing internal stresses.
IWAMET used a combination of KOSMEK High-Power Pneumatic Work Supports WNC1603 and High-Power Pneumatic Swing Clamps WHE1000 to reduce the impact of casting imperfections on machining quality and eliminate manual fixture adjustments during setup.
